Tuesday: Half-Done

The landscaper was supposed to be coming back today to lay the path and finish putting up our new railings and gate.  Mid-morning K texted him to find out where he was.  He said he wasn’t able to come as his wife walked out yesterday, leaving him with five children.  

We’re definitely sympathetic, and it’s a rotten situation, but I do think that he should be proactively informing his customers that he can’t come, rather than leaving us to track him down.  He’s also got previous for this - at the beginning of the job he didn’t come as promised and only when we asked said that there was an issue with one his kids.  He’s now supposed to come on Thursday so we’ll see.

We had a quiet day at home, with Barney, catching up after being away.  K. felt quite unwell today so wasn’t able to head into town for blood tests.  This means that tomorrow’s chemo now has to be pushed to next week.  We don’t think it’s anything serious - just the fall-out from having pushed things a bit too much in the last week.
