St Peter Church, Monstein

It was low cloud again this morning, and despite drizzling we decided we have had enough of waiting for better weather so drove to Rhinerhorn on the other side of Davos to walk from there to Monstein. It drizzled a bit, often when the sun was shining, but the weather was pleasant and it was dry for most of the walk. We walked up the mountain from the gondola station towards Spina and then across the mountain to Monstein. This is the Church of St Peter, built in 1668. From the church you descend the mountain into the village of Monstein, famous for its brewery.

We had lunch at the Duca Restaurant in Monstein, and we planned to get the bus back to where we had parked the car, but on realising we had a 40 minute wait for the next bus decided to walk back, so we did lots of steps today. I had a delicious mushroom risotto, it is mushroom season now with people out in the forests picking them. On the weekend we chatted to another of our neighbours here, who had driven up from her main home in Zurich just to go mushroom picking. She pickles the mushrooms which they then eat with raclette.

Yesterday another blipper told me that Chur, in my blip yesterday,  means something different in New Zealand, so I found this video about Chur and it is very funny.

Tonight I have my camera club committee meeting on zoom, it is an hour later for me due to the time difference which means it will be a bit of a late night. I am feeling tired as I am not sleeping that well, as the date approaches for Gavin's next scan I find I am waking up in the middle of the night thinking about it.
