We have a day that
could sizzle by afternoon -
I love my A/C

I backed my car out on to the street listening to the 6 AM news. We made the Canadian hot spot yesterday with a high close to 35 C.

I took the road below my hill to drive out to Tranquille. There are so many large vehicles on this route now due to all the detours/construction that it is not a quiet drive.

When I was almost at the railway tracks I saw the bighorn sheep grazing in a field. I took a few shots but they show heads in long grass and not very appealing to me. I moved on to the panorama of the wetlands pond and Tranquille.

I found just one osprey on the nest. It was keeping a keen eye on the neighbourhood but was very quiet.

I got my shot of my mountains and watched a very long freight train make its way east to the terminal.

I turned back onto Ord Road and discovered the bighorns were moving out of the big field onto a roadway along the hillside. This property was once a Department of Agriculture research site with a focus on insect life, if I recall correctly. Not seeing any signs to the contrary, I drove up the driveway to get closer to the herd.

I watched the rams jump over the rail fence onto the driveway. They were hungry for greens and munched as they moved along the rocky hillside. They look great against the rocky terrain.

I'm home for the day. I will be hiding from the afternoon heat until the weather cools at the end of the week.
