Bike & Bridge

Writing after-the-fact.

Another wide-angle shot. Still practicing.

Pancake breakfast. Things started out good, but I cannot tell a lie. Getting out of the van to make this bike trip (that we do almost every time we are in town) was a nightmare. We didn't have a jacket for G and that started a string of problems that were blown way out of proportion. In the meantime, Q didn't want to stay in the bike trailer. It was brutal.

Once we finally got underway, we had lots of fun. Stopped to dumpster dive for some fist parts to use as crab bait, but it didn't seem worth the effort. G was wearing my shirt and down vest, so I am glad we ended up buying bait at the store instead.

Matt threw a line in at our usual stop along the bike path and then the children and I walked to marine science center. As usual, G is interested in the animals and Q is interested in all things mechanical.

One crab caught, but too small. Next stop: the brewery for lunch (tuna tacos). We got a primo table right next to the bay-front window AND the children's play area. Q had an accident on the way in and is still limping from it. Not sure what he did exactly. Poor guy.

Drove extra on the way home to get the little guy to sleep and he just refused. Grandma and Grandpa arrived in time for dinner at the cabin. Grandpa, M, and G went back to the bay to crab while Grandma, Q, and I chilled at the cabin. Q was so tired when I laid him down. He touched my hair and to told me, "Mama, I love your hair. I love to touch your hair."

The crabbing party made it home late with 3 rock crab. We ate them the next night for dinner. G told me all about how to identify male and female "dungees." She really enjoyed it.
