Table posies at the Rising Tide, Portobello
I have pounded the streets of Edinburgh today.
This morning with Mr hazelh, I took Florence to her first day of the Edinburgh Film Academy 2025. This journey necessitated a walk to the bus stop, a bus ride, another walk, another bus ride, and a walk home again.
Back at the house, I prepared LauraMuir's quarters for her overnight stay after book group this evening.
After lunch, I walked to Portobello to meet Frances for a wander along the prom. Then followed tea and cake at The Rising Tide, where I found my blip. I walked from here with Mr hazelh to meet Florence at the end of her 'school' day. Then we caught a bus back into the city centre and walked from there home to the flat.
I was only home for about 15 minutes before it was time to set out again on foot, this time as far as the tram stop. I caught a tram to Haymarket. Here I met LauraMuir for the walk to Melissa's house for book group.
We were five in total: Melissa, myself, LauraMuir, Ridgeback13, and Emma. Our assessment of Claire Askew's work was rather lukewarm, although those of us from Edinburgh were well entertained by the local references in her books. We all enjoyed Melissa's cold mezze and salad supper.
Ridgeback13 gave me and LauraMuir a lift home after our book group meeting. We were both very grateful that there was no more walking after supper.
Exercise today: walking (30,233 steps).
