Porch View With Aperitifs

Late afternoon aperitif hour on our porch, with our friends Kate and Tom from Maine (Kate roomed with Marylee during their undergraduate years at Mount Holyoke).

We first glimpsed yesterday's Great Blue Heron from this porch--it was at the small pond in the distant background, just out of the frame on the right. I went outside to take the shot, from nearly this distance just across the road.
