Lumbier to Monreal

The weather changed today and it’s unseasonably chilly. Walking from Lumbier to Monreal along the Ibargoiti Valley felt very remote. I met no one for 21 kilometres except a herd of cows and some horses. The path was narrow and I felt I I did a good impression of a farmer waving my walking poles about and shooing them out of the way. They were compliant.
Although yesterday had been a relatively easy day I felt tired today. Towards Monreal the road seemed endless, the wind catching me sideways making it more difficult.
Another interesting accommodation tonight, a traditional casa rural which looks out onto the church and the bar next to it. The owner speaks no English and I hope I’ve understood where I go to get breakfast which is at the alternative bar in the village. Once again I appear to be the only guest.
There are three pilgrims in the Albergue which I passed as I was sussing things out. One of whom I met a few days ago in Artieda. A sociable evening in the bar beckons, it opens at 6.30 and I’m hoping I won’t have to wait too many hours before I can eat.
