Looking down into Eze

Day 2 and a most enjoyable leisurely day with Cousin 2  and my brother, who had arrived at midnight. Yes dear reader, this is the view from his eyrie! The first extra is the hilltop peninsula walk that I braved in 29c while the others lounged at the pool. From here you had a wonderful eagle's eye view of what was going on down in Eze sur Mer - boats coming and going, little helicopters nippy across the bay from Monaco, the planes flying into Nice and most lovely of all, flocks of swifts soaring above.
Back down to our hotel and quick wash and brush up before the main birthday bash at another exclusive beachfront restaurant. All the tables were named after posh cars - we were on Mustang. One of the guests joked (I think) that Mustangs weren't quite posh enough for her. A five piece band plus double bass serenaded us this time but we had been sneaky and got seats near the beach ready to  get a breather when necessary.  We did that between courses and watched as the stars came out  and the myriad boats in the bay lit up - including Jeff Bezos' massive three masted boat which had sailed in - my cousin, who knows about this kind of thing, said it had a crew of 40! The Bezos' must have had a bit of a shock for they were directly below the incredibly impressive fireworks display which filled the sky at 11pm!  The dancing on tables was starting and I'm afraid we didn't make it to the bitter end!
