It is Friday

Great to be back at Burgundy's after missing last week when I was camping in Wales. and a great joy to see Quay Change back at Burgundy's and with a new vocalist. Helen Longworth and she was brilliant. She sang all night hitting the right notes, the right keys and the right words in a brilliant night of entertainment.

And for me the joy of painting her - usually vocalists are extremely challenging but Helen was less so because she did not dance around as much! So I had a better opportunity to render her on paper. She therefore very quickly became the focal point and to enhance this left the other members of Quay change in pencil! - Laurence Canty on bass, Fred Binley on keyboards and John Powney on drums - all of whom I have previously painted and on the website

I was approached afterwards by a guy who asked if I would sell it - as usual I handled it badly as I have a great difficulty from parting with my paintings!
