Butterfly Days
After a long, warm and dry spring and some pretty decent summer weather too, there seem to be a lot more butterflies around than last year. I spotted this Painted Lady in my garden as I got home from work this evening. The Knapweed is ... a weed ... but it's a pretty native and I am happy to have it both for it's looks and the nectar it offers to the insects.
A busier day than yesterday, some periods busier than others. A second cream tea coach party of the weekend went off well and two afternoon tea parties also, albeit on a smaller scale. As always the teamwork of the people I work with helped smooth out what might otherwise have been a bumpy ride at the busiest times.
I wasn't home long as Sue had invited us round for an impromptu sing. As usual when we meet there was at least as much chat as music but our group is about friendship as well as song, so that was fine :-)
After a busy spell with work, I now have a quiet time for a couple of weeks, in part because I will be away much of next week. Ready for a bit of down time.
