Naddle Fell

Craggy texted suggesting a walk today so I went through to his and we headed down to St.John’s in the Vale. After the obligatory check in with holy well at the church https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2143500650254698108 we walked along the valley to Low Bridge End farm and stopped for refreshments. It was lovely to talk to the couple … it’s the family farm and when I last visited, many years ago, it was her dad who I remember. I was telling them about G and we shared memories of the days before Useless Utilities when Manchester Corporation managed the area and the reservoir.
We went up onto the fell top and followed the ridge with its wonderful elevated panoramic views down Thirlmere and up to Helvellyn to the south and Blencathra and Skiddaw to the north before descending back to the church.
