Ikons
At the breakfast table this morning I saw that one of my guitar heroes was playing at the art-museum only fifteen km from here this very evening. It's an outdoor concert so theres plenty of tickets left.
Since it's at the art-museum, I wanted to see the temporary exhibition called "Icons", photos by a legendary swedish photographer called LarsÅke Thuresson. His name isn't very known but his photos of artists from the sixties and onwards are known internationally. Photos of The Beatles, Stones, Joplin, Hendrix and most of the artists from the early sixties from their visits to Sweden, but also the bands and artists from Sweden.
The artist I wanted to listen to is called Janne Schafer, studio musician from the mid sixties and still going strong. He's played on 5000 albums as a studio musician and has made 27 album under his own name. He has had a huge influence on my choice of career for his musicality and his humble personality.
His concert this evening, called "My music story" lasted over two and a half hours and was very interesting, he tells a lot of background stories to recordings and his cooperation with artists and he played a lot of songs from his whole career. He's still making music but this is a sort of summary of his life, so far. He is seven years older than me (79) and has "always been there". The musicians was very very good and the sound was extraordinary good, for once, I made sure to tell the technician that too, they rarely get to know that otherwise.
