Dying Art

Today we visited Skansen, an open air museum for traditional Polish buildings and customs.

This craftsman was shaping wooden slats for a barrel and my cousin spent a long time discussing the technique with him. Later on, he went back and purchased a rather beautiful small barrel and I think his intention is to use it for pickles.
