Ripening
This morning we had a good journey down to a lovely small caravan site near Stilton, Cambs. We have been here a few times before and love the peace and quiet and stunning countryside.
Once we got ‘Matilda’ settled I made tea and we sat out in the sun for a while. The owner of the camper van next to us retuned with her two lovely, and very obedient dogs, both rescues from Spain. She joined us for tea and chat and told us she was from Germany and following the death of her husband last year she was finally being brave and embarking on a UK adventure on her own. She misses her husband like mad but knows he would want her to continue with the adventures they once had together. Her final words were to enjoy every moment of every day in any way you can.
After that I took myself for a walk round the large crop field next to the caravan site and enjoyed my little moment with nature: loads of blackberries ripening nicely, a tree full of noisy little Long Tailed Tits, several Jimminy Crickets springing their way through the crops and beautiful countryside views all around.
