A sunny start to

camera - and soon!

I slept in until almost 7. I was needing some groceries so I decided to do that first, then look for my blip.
I arrived in McArthur Island Park before 8. There were few walkers this morning. I focused on the area near the Butterfly Garden. The footbridge was already in full sun. My mountains looked deep blue to the east. Marmots are this side of the island seem very calm and slow-moving. The flowers, chosen to entice butterflies, were in full bloom. I walked along the edge of the slough where milkweed grows wild. No surprise to find a bunch of red milkweed beetles munching on the milkweed. Reflections in the slough were sharp.
My find today was catching a heron after it landed in the slough. I stopped on the roadside, rolled down my window to get this shot. Suddenly, there was someone behind me honking their horn! I put my hand out my window and waved them past me. Somehow that wasn't sufficient for this driver at 8 on a Sunday morning - he had to pull in front of me and lay on his horn again! At this point the driver received the middle finger salute from me, then he drove away. Don't mess with an old lady!!!
I'm at home for a quiet day with my feet up once again.
