"HERE WE ARE, TWO SOULS TOGETHER"

A very warm busy day today. Because my boss is going on his annual holiday very soon, he is trying to complete all his outstanding work. And you know what that means!!! So after being at work for 90 minutes, (remembering I only have 3 hours to complete a days work), he suddenly remembered loads of Health & Safety jobs outstanding. I wont bore you with all the details, needless to say I worked much longer than I should.

Came home very uptight, mainly because the work I had to do was very tedious. So after placing a casserole in the oven, I decided to take Phoebe for a nice stroll. The temperature was slightly lower and there was a gentle breeze. After her paddle in the stream, we walked through the churchyard and I was struck by the light filtering through the trees onto this amazing headstone. It read Jesu (then latin words). Col. Henry (three other Christian names) Benson CBE 1876. Also his wife and then his children.

I stood and watched the light, wondering about their lives together so long ago, and felt that I was trespassing on their souls. It made me realise how fragile we are and our time so precious.

Why do we bother with such trivial things, wasting time arguing, instead of being less selfish and loving one another, valuing the finer qualities of life!!

I'll stop now. But it made me think.
