Hateful widebeam

No movement today. I did a pub crawl of the area to find out the best one to watch the football. 
The blip? Most people in narrowboats hate wide beams.  Why? They fill up locks and tricky when passing each other. Obviously they cost a fortune and the drivers have (in my vivid imagination) the arrogance of the rich over ordinary people
