William Morris
In the morning we went to Kelmscott Manor, the country home of William Morris, known widely for his fabric patterns, less so for his socialist views and his literary endeavours.
The Manor was an interesting place, with the Thames at the bottom of the garden, and rooms set aside for Rossetti’s artistic creations and those of Jane Morris, William’s younger wife.
After that visit we walked around six miles, ending up at the Rose Revived where we were staying for the night.
