Quite a day

This is a hummingbird hawk moth that was on our buddleia plant this afternoon. Lovely to see.
The extra is of our Open Day at the allotments and I think it went very well. Although I am the chairperson, someone else did most of the organising and they made a great job of it. In addition to the stalls in the picture, there were home bakes, pancakes and tea and coffee and even some live music.
Lots of brilliant helpers and lots of people came along and spent money.
We are very lucky in that the weather stayed dry and warm in spite of the forecast being for rain.
Oh, and although there were lots of wasps buzzing about, I don’t think that anyone was stung!
And we were out at a birthday party at night!
