Hauling Straw….
First job this morning was to go next door , load up the sheets of wool from Thursday and bring them back here to add to the pile .
That’s the shearing finished ( apart from any the herd missed when he gathered the hill). Hopefully the 45 sheets of wool will get picked up next week as I need the shed to tip grain in once we start harvest.
Headed off down the road to haul home the straw I baled on Thursday. Had it all home by 6 pm. I think I’m getting too old for this . The traffic on the main A68 was very busy and once I turned onto the B road it wasn’t long before I had a trail of cars behind me. There was nowhere to pull in so they just had to wait behind me. It doesn’t help that all the villages are now 20 mph so you have to throttle back a bit then you’ve lost your momentum and take ages to get back up to 50K. And the 2 wheeled Lycra brigade were out in force to- too slow that they hold you up, but too fast to pass unless you have a lot of clear road in front of you.
The joys….
