July Pie

After picking all those blueberries on Thursday, and dealing with so many apples around here, after supper, I baked a pie.

Today has been a pretty much perfect summer day:
the weather, the hummmgbird on the red runner beans, the company, the clean house, the pie. 
My sister Kathi would’ve been 84 today, and I think some essence of her, some remaining force of her reached me today. And, no matter what anyone thinks of that, I got something good from it.
