so many to choose from - difficult to narrow down - to just one - this is what happens - when there are so many - sunflower heads smiling - at you from so many - different garden plots - before people began planting - in our community garden - many years ago - i had no idea there - were so many variations - of a sunflower at all - i simply remembered - big gangly growing plants - that grew over fences - when i was a kiddo

now i have a much better - appreciation for the many - nuances both great and subtle - of them as well as - how they can be - small and very large - it’s been so fun over - the years to get a learning - experience of them - now able to call - them a favorite - looking forward to them - blooming each season - so they can lead us to…
