Red Squirrel ( Sciurus vulgaris )
I started the day taking shots of the birds fluttering at the feeders. Fully intending to use one of those. We keep records of the maximum number of birds using the garden each week for the BTO. At one point Clickychick said mark down 14 House Sparrows and one Red Squirrel. I queried where.
On the bird table she said. Well when an animal poses it would be rude to not oblige.
So without apology the blip is a squirrel again. I was pleased to read an article today that pointed out the desperate need for a cull (eradication?) of the greys because of the £37,000,000 per annum they cost in damage to forestry mainly native broadleaves.
