The accidental finding

Day of rest

I don’t do much today apart from walk to town to the Big Posh Supermarket to buy halloumi and oranges, and to the Post Office . I learned that one of Stroud’s characters, who worked at the Sub Rooms, had died abroad. The circumstances are not clear.

Bought a box of Magnums and sat eating one on a bench, while watching the artist Bamba and a Christian evangelist called Peter talking about the Big Stuff. Walked home and my next Amazon delivery arrived .Imagine my surprise to find it contained … a make up mirror! I chased the driver as he had delivered me the wrong parcel, and he returned with the right one. Hurrah! I now have a dinky little pump for inflating an air bed, and a larger one. Perhaps my sister K will want one when she visits next week. She goes camping too.

Mostly I just lay around in my hammock/the cabin, listening to podcasts. It’s been very hot and still, weather wise. I Was tickled by this story in the free newspaper from the supermarket, about an ‘affordable lunch’ in Digbeth, Birmingham, for £50. A person earning the National minimum wage of £12.21 an hour would have to work more than 4 hours to earn just shy of that figure!

The butterflies in the image are by Anne Searle, from a jigsaw I’ve just started.
