One daze at a time...

Mellow meadows, my fluffy arse

Since my arrival in Tegernsee I have felt the pull of the alpine meadows across the lake. I could swear that they have been calling me.
Today I answered their siren's song.
What a mistake. They were beautiful indeed but once at the top of the meadows, I was persuaded to push further, over the crest, to a mature forest and more meadows. And more importantly the promise of cake..
20,000 steps for that piece of cake!
Except that there was none to be had. The alpine cake place mustn't have been doing brisk enough business. It is now a remote up-market wedding reception location (the Rolex banners were a giveaway). Scenic by the bucketload but no cake. You try and eat a Rolex... (even a Rolex Oyster...)
It's crestfallen and on the verge of starvation that l barely made it back to the ferry home.
A skinny dip in a little waterfall was the only thing that raised my spirits (I was in search of fresh water molluscs to eat in the waterfall).

Once again, I can safely say that I shall sleep well tonight, under the constant watch of the bishop.
It's all that alpine, clean, fresh air, you see. And lack of cake.
