Expensive, Extensive Surgery

The tree surgeons were here all day today, after a large branch fell into next door’s garden at the weekend. The tree needed a lot more ‘pruning’ than just that branch though, as it had a number of unsafe dead branches already. When the guy up the tree arrived we thought it was one of the lad’s dads, he was even older than me with long white hair and beard.  We were impressed that he spent much of the day clambering about the branches with his chainsaw dangling from his belt, only descending for a couple of cups of tea! There’s a slightly closer look at him in action in extras.
Our next door neighbours (other side) moved out today as well, so there were a lot of extra vehicles in the road, with vans and the chipper truck all jostling for space.
