One of Nature's wonders!

We were admiring our water lily pads this afternoon when MrHCB spotted the dragonfly under a leaf

I think that the dark creature on the left may be the old nymph case from which the dragonfly on the right has newly emerged.  Its fore wings are nearly filled with the fluid that makes them rigid.  The hind wings are still uninflated.  The dragonfly is vulnerable during the 1-3 hours that it is in this state as it can't fly.

I can't tell what sort of dragonfly it is as they only develop their final colours over the next few days.  Maybe someone else is more knowledgeable than me?
