The Hidden Iris

We slipped below zero early this morning and it was definitely the coldest I’ve felt for a long time!! Brrrrr!!!   Had to put the aircon on to warm me up as I was getting ready for work. When I eventually got out to the car I was shocked to realise that the windscreen and rear window were both covered in thick ice!!!! Eeeeek!!!   Not something that happens very often here!! 
Had to go back inside and get some warm water to get rid of it!!! 
Out of the corner of my eye I saw a flash of purple in the garden but by that time I was running late and didn’t go and look what that was.  
Checked that out when I got home tonight and it was this beautiful iris which fortunately had been covered over by a big leaf from another bush which I think saved it from the frost yay!!! ; )
I’ll put a shot of the frozen windscreen in extras! : )
