Know your onions

This year I think we have a crop!
After those cold wet summers of the past few years I was beginning to think onions were a thing of the past.
I remember our first few years here in the early 90's we would grow and ripen enough to last from one crop to the next, and lay them out in the sun to ripen on the lawn.
Those days I fear are gone, but at least we will know our onions until Christmas this time! And shallots too.
