1313
The ruins of the massive Gatehouse of Dunstanburgh Castle on the Northumberland Coast – with sun and blue sky. A glorious day for walking beside the sea from Craster to the castle. A lot of people about, but nowhere near as many as in Seahouses, where we went for fish and chips and to buy some kippers and smoked haddock.
And 1313 is when the enormous castle that now stands in ruins was built. A more traditional view of it is here.
