GCSE results out today, and once again they are being kicked around like a political football.

Jacca had sat a couple early. To assess how well he has done, I would like to invite you to attempt the test below. It consists of two multiple choice questions.

1. Jacca did better than expected in his Science GCSE. Was this because:

a) He worked hard, completed his homework and revised hard for the exam
b) He has a brilliant Science teacher
c) His parents supported and encouraged him in his studies
d) The exam was too easy, they are dumbing down the syllabus and the grade boundaries should be tightened.

2. Jacca did better than his teacher predicted in his GCSE maths, obtaining a C. Was this because:

a) His parents paid £25 an hour for extra maths tuition
b) He worked hard through a tough revision schedule with his mum learning the syllabus at the same time
c) His maths teacher was incompetent and inadequate
d) The changes Michael Gove implemented are already taking effect
