Cherished transfer

Yes. that's what they call it when you transfer a number plate from one car to another. A money making idea if ever there was one. Yes,I know, I don't have to do it, but it's one of those things that once you've started it, it's difficult to stop. Old registration will now have to wait for new car to arrive some time in September. It does make me question why all the local DVLA offices are closing and everything is being channelled through Swansea - the letter suggests I may have to wait 4 weeks for them to issue a new V5 logbook - they sent everything else today so why couldn't that have been sent at the same time? Any ideas?
