New country new city

Today I flew to Portugal.  First time here for me.  I'm in Lisbon right now and just back from 2-3 hours walking the streets in the area known as Alfama.

It's gloriously chaotic and fun.  Tables outside tiny cafes hinder the pedestrian flow forcing people onto the streets where the sleek cars and the yellow trams (extra)  compete for priority. 

And the washing is hung high and in public.  Why not !!  Reminds me of Sicily and Naples.

Elements of culture shock for me having just left Finland, but I'm happy to embrace the contrasts !
