100!
The day started early. Amelia was sleeping in the tent in the back garden and then about 3.45 there were shouts and crying. I dashed downstairs in the semi light. She wanted out of the tent but was scared of the snakes. Once that fear abated she rushed into bed and I failed to get back to sleep.
Then it was an odd morning of waiting, waiting for a cake, waiting to get ready, waiting to go out. There was also a mini disaster after I pone Mum to wish her 'happy birthday'. Olivia managed to knock over one of my glass lampshades, which shattered. C'est la vie.
The advance party went down for 1 p.m. to decorate and prep. Just as well as the first guest (invited for 2 arrived at 1.20) and then it was full on dishing out tea, and fizz and cake and biscuits. There were carers, the minister, neighbours and family. We'd passed #2 son and Shannaz on the way there (off for lunch in town), nephew M and his wife and kids arrived unexpectedly and #3 son popped in at the end just before 5. The girls got on well with their cousins, playing outside. In all we had 23 folk (including me) and the British Legion Chair who presented her with yet another coin. There were flowers and a lit of cards with only a couple of duplicates. I regret not putting the candles on the cake. But Mum seemed to enjoy it though I think she was a bit overwhelmed at times and pretty tired by the end.
Packed up the car again and while #1 son and WH walked back up the hill J, girls and I went to Cameron Toll to get Mei Mei an out fit for Saturday and food for tonight. We had tacos. Having been on my feet all afternoon I was exhausted, plus I hadn't had lunch.
Everyone seemed to drift off to bed and I watched a bit of tv before exhaustion overtook me and I succumbed.
Day 1 of 3.
