DROOL WORTHY

Abarth Cisitalia 204A Motto Spider that took Tazio Nuvolari to his last win - 1st in Class, 5th Overall, at the 1950 Palermo Monte Pellegrino Hillclimb.  Gave me goosebumps knowing that the great Nuvolari sat in the seat of this particular car.

Barely 154 inches long and 58 inches wide, sporting a curb weight of just over 1100 lbs, and featuring 82 bhp from its high revving 1100 cc Fiat 4, it was certainly quick for its class, topping out at 118 mph.

I know a guy who had a nice chat with the guy who fettles the car.  He said it was kind of a barn find - in good shape, but hadn't been run for a long time.  They took everything apart, of course, and got it in proper running order.  The Abarth historical group gave it a good look, and pronounced it 94% original.  The engine is original.  It runs, but needs some replacement of various worn parts.  They've found a replacement engine they can put in so that they can run the car more, and will keep the original.

BEST IN LARGE.
