Large White

This large white butterfly, slightly tattered around the edges, was blipped very close to where I captured the chicory flower a couple of days ago.  Obviously it was feeding on a thistle but I was so excited to get it against that plain background I didn't look at the thistle carefully enough to ID which variety.  Disgraceful!

Quite a lot of the rest of the morning was taken up with accompanying my neighbour to a plant nursery 10 miles out of Winchester.  We had coffee, much talking and laughing and a good buying session, but she has a very bad knee which is about to be operated on, so I had to be most careful she didn't do too much.  Still we managed all that was needed.
