Sgwarnog: In the Field

Tolerant

One of those high summer, dull and overcast days, with a bit of rain around, so you feel like a coat is needed, but when you’re wearing it feels suffocatingly warm.

I doubt the Speckled Wood has such things to worry about, it is  one of the butterflies most tolerant of rain.

Later, I was back at Valley Parade for the first time since that dramatic afternoon in May. Middlesbrough were visiting for a pre-season friendly, so a low stakes Yorkshire derby of sorts.  City had plenty of new players on show, it will take a while to work out who’s who and who’s where. Boro showed the quality you would expect from a Championship team, yet the Bantams were resilient in defence, and made the most of chances when they came along. A first half penalty and a second goal with the last kick of the game giving Bradford an encouraging 2-0 win.
