Competition

There are few things we miss about life in the metropolis when we are up here. One of them is Saturday baked goods. [See also: decent pubs and tap rooms]. It appears there may be competition.

I slipped over to Dornoch during the morning to go to the fortnightly market. It meant I got a chance to buy a new ornamental grass from Mrs Corry Croft and various other choice bits and pieces (Mr Clyth Charcuterie was there too). There was a new (to me at least) stall from the good folks at Knockfarrel Produce. I procured an excellent (and very hairy) fennel bulb from him and also one of his freshly baked pork pies. Obviously, this is mainly for Mr A, but it's definitely big enough for sharing, so I had a delicious slice for my lunch, and here it is for blip (with sweet peas in the background, of course).

Mr A arrived back safe and sound from Edinburgh on a punctual train, whilst I was out swimming with some of the girls. It meant I had to do that thing which - as a city person - still makes me slightly queasy, namely going out and leaving the door unlocked and no one at home. Unusually, swimming photos did not make the cut for my blip today! When L dropped me off again, Mr A was out in the back garden appreciating his domain and obviously happy to be back in the north.
