Life's Little Moments

Bombus Impatiens

The Common Eastern Bumble Bee and the third Bombus species I have posted from my garden this summer.  I may have missed posting the 4th species (B. bimaculatis) as I have not seen any for a couple of weeks.  This fluffy bee is a generalist pollinator although they do seem to have a preference for the native mountain mint (seen here), echinacea and swamp milkweed.  I also found a season-first thread waisted wasp and yet another species of leafcutter bee.  And I am very happy to report that Jax seems to have gotten over his need to snap and growl at the bees - now he just ignores them.  Much safer for everyone!

Hubs and I were back to the eye doc today.  He has a second posterior vitreous detachment now in his other eye.  The doctor is not worried and assured us that this is pretty common as people age.  We will be back in 4 weeks for another look just to make sure all is stable.  And poor hubs is waiting for his dialated pupils to recover now.

Mom and dad have contracted with a realtor to sell their condo in Oregon, the next big step in moving east.  The realtor thinks it will sell pretty quickly as the market is good and the condo is in great condition and has had a kitchen remodel recently so very up to date.  Fingers crossed.  Have I mentioned how much I am looking forward to having them live just down the road from us??

Things are moving forward with filing the insurance claim on our lost trip to Brazil.  Our guy is finally back in Costa Rica and will be meeting with his agent later this week so hopefully we will have a clearer idea as to coverage and timing in the next week or so.

The next few days are going to be hot and humid so I will probably limit my time outside.  I do have a couple of computer projects I need to get to so maybe I will do that.  Or maybe not.

xoxo
