White Heather

White Heather is now quite common in gardens and parks, but when I was young it was rarely found and I remember searching the heather on the hills on Bute as it was considered lucky. I never found any but gypsies used to come round the doors selling lucky white heather. I wonder where they found it.
As far as I know the sailors are not going to St Kilda it will have to be 3rd time lucky! They are crossing the Minch today.
