To the Matterhorn

Up to our highest point today. Glorious weather and a delightful alpine valley path heading up in stages. Eventually we emerged in the lunar landscape of the ski area above Cervinia. A sudden contrast. People, lifts and paraphernalia, cafes. And even a helicopter landing to render first aid - we think to a mountain biker. Then a hard slog up gravel tracks to our wonderful hut for the night the Theodolu at 3317m and still in Italy (just). Pic is Walt enjoying a beer with the Matterhorn behind.
