In the graveyard
This is one of the graves visited by those interested in history. This is in Beoley churchyard, quite close to the church and the stone marks the grave of Police Constable James Davies who was brutally murdered by a needle maker turned fowl poacher in the early hours of the morning. It is a gruesome tale which ended with the murderer being executed.
It is said that PC Davies’s ghost still walks his beat around Beoley and Weatheroak hill
