Maritime district, Rotterdam

By Rotterdam, the Rhine has become a well-scattered bunch of delta branches. You're not even getting the full force of the river here. 
Rotterdam about 40km inland but it doesn't feel like it, with all the various riverside harbours. 

If I hadnt studied languages, I think I would have liked to have studied rivers. I'm not into the fish or wildlife aspect so much, but I am interested in how rivers form landscapes, encourage urban growth, and become focal points for commerce across a region. 

But I didn't fancy 2 years with Mrs Jackman (not bitter AT ALL about losing her Senate seat and having to come back and teach us) or Mrs Kearney (such a dour cow) for Leaving Cert Geography
