We walked the loop route to Sycamore Gap today; spent a few minutes wondering at the crass vandalism that lost us the beautiful tree, as with so much of our natural world, and walked back to Twice Brewed Inn for a decent beer and sandwiches.

Then we visited the Sill Visitor Centre, a less than rewarding experience, although we're glad we went.  It's a truly beautiful landscape.
