By morning the weather forecast had changed from damp to cloudy. I decided against plan A (a well known kitchenware store) and thought a wander to the garden centre might be better with the improving weather. Then I abandoned that in favour of housework! I stripped the bed and put the washer on. While that was going I sorted the recycling and attacked garden weeds.

After lunch a walk along to Rydal Hall, travelling light carrying just my phone, a piece of flapjack and a lightweight waterproof jacket. The first bit out of Ambleside is beside the road. I liked the plants growing on the stone wall with Scandale Beck below.
