Heading into Boston
As we are living in a lovely suburb of Boston we took an easy slow train into Copley Square where we started on foot rediscovering areas of Boston that we used to visit years ago during our frequent October holidays.
We wandered along by Boston Common with all its history and that is where the first extra was taken. The 2nd extra is of one of the many Boston Duck Tour vehicles - a way of exploring the city with a lot of fun on land and water ( the Charles River ) and we certainly did it on our first visit.
We then headed onwards towards the Boston harbour area past the Boston Tea Party museum , the lovely Aquarium that we have visited several times and then to Quincy Market where we bought lunch at one of the many different eating booths. We sat outside and ate it in the lovely warm sunshine.
By mid afternoon we were getting exhausted- 15000+ steps by the time we got the train back to Waban station where Mrs AMK’s cousin was waiting.
The day didn’t finish there as in the evening we were taken to the home of one of our host’s friends to meet the family of a young lady and her boy friend’s family, who is about to travel soon to Glasgow to study at Glasgow Vet School . We were treated as guests of honour as many questions were discussed about life and cultures of Scotland, the area of Glasgow where she will be staying and reassuring her parents that their daughter will be well treated.
No doubt we will have the opportunity to meet the 2 families again over the next 5 years and probably invite them across to the East coast where we live.
