On the way to pick more wild gooseberries we had to stand aside to let the tractor pass with its bales. The morning sun meant the hay bales were able to dry out sufficiently to be collected before torrential downpours with distant thunder in the afternoon. Perhaps it will not be long before the tractor is hauling bales of from winter barley straw from fields nearby. Shortly afterwards I managed to get a quick photo of my first Painted Lady butterfly this year which had stopped briefly on the track.
