Asahikawa at night

Today we left lovely Lake Akan and headed westish for Asahikawa. It was another long day of travel and time wasted in my opinion and tomorrow is expected to bring similar. Asahikawa is renowned for its ramen and we had a very pleasant vegetarian one here this evening, after which I took the photo in my main. 

Before leaving this morning I had a chance to explore alone. I came across this beautiful spiral flower garden/sculpture (see extra), within a larger enclosure to keep the deer out. They'd love a munch on the flowers.
