Gatekeeper

Cathy's away at Jess's helping with the recently arrived Granddaughter  and I'm at home catching up with chores. The weather has been drier than forecast so there's been a chance to try to sneak up on the gatekeeper in the garden that seems to like the white hydrangea.  The disadvantage of getting so close is that you don't have enough depth of field for the whole insect, but on the plus side, you do get to see more details of the eyes and tongue.
