Faustus in Africa

A brief trip to Athens to see an amazing theatrical production of Faustus in Africa, part of the Athens Festival programme.
It's a play by William Kentridge, performed by the South African Handspring Puppet Company. It's a funny but also horrific socio-political satire that sets the Faust pact with the devil legend  in the context of the colonial and post colonial conquest and exploitation of Africa.
I really loved the quirky mix of theatre, human actors, life-size puppets, music, dance, and charcoal animation.
